Midnight Misfits is a Rocky Horror Picture shadowcast based in NJ, with performances primarily in Jersey City and Hoboken! In true Rocky Horror tradition, Midnight Misfits hosts several shows a year, including a screening of the film with a live, interactive performance element.

Why We do this?

For decades, audiences have flocked to Rocky Horror Picture Show shadowcast performances...chances are, your parents (and even grandparents) have shown up to a movie theater in a corset and fishnets! The tradition involves a cast of actors who become the film’s characters, acting out the entirety of the film in front of the screen as it's playing, adding an immersive element with vocal responses, costumes encouraged, and interaction between the cast and the audience. It's a pillar of pop culture, and for many a favorite Halloween activity.

Even more broadly, the cult classic is a celebration of inclusivity and a space for everyone to be themselves, have fun, and try something new. ...Besides, it’s also just really fun to yell things at the big screen.
